Klamath Falls, Oregon, is situated in the southern part of the state, just 17 miles from the California border. Its history dates back to 1865 when George Nurse founded it under the name Linkville; its name was changed to Klamath Falls in 1893. The origin of Linkville’s name can be traced to the Link River upon which the city is built. Despite its name, Klamath Falls doesn’t feature any significant waterfalls, though some may argue that there’s a small cascade on the Link River.  In 2021, Klamath Falls had a population of 22,062 residents.
